J Family

We headed up to Lake Nokomis with storm clouds in the background, but thankfully the rain (and tornado watch!) held off until after the shoot. We did a little exploring and momma found a sweet little Woolly Bear caterpillar and we also found the best climbing tree when we were on our way back to the car.

These guys are always so much fun to hang out with, laid back and just the right amount of silly for my taste! Thanks J family for such a great shoot, you make my job easy. I had a lot of fun capturing your family! (Also thank you for the chocolate AND the cheese curds…YUM.)

R Family

It is always so fun to have a new client contact you with a great idea for a family session! I met this momma when our first borns were itty-bitties. We were both in a new momma group at the hospital we delivered our babies. The group was a wonderful place to connect and learn. I’m glad we have kept in touch over the last five and a half years.

When she told me she wanted to visit an ice cream shop that was special to their family, I was very excited! (And not just because I enjoy dairy products.) Selma’s Ice Cream Parlour is the oldest ice cream shop in Minnesota, as it opened in 1913. Ice cream has been served up there for over 100 years! If you ever get to the Afton area, I highly recommend it! It served as the perfect back drop for this fun lifestyle shoot. Thanks R family so very much for inviting me to be part of this sweet session. 😉

Baby L & Company: 9 Months

We had a hot and humid evening for our session at Lebanon Hills. The main focus of the shoot was little L turning nine months old and his big sister turning FIVE years old. Holy smokes! And what a smart little firecracker she is!

It’s always so fun to see how much babies change in such a short amount of time. It seems like just last week I was taking L’s six month pictures. But this time around he was standing solidly and was very-nearly-walking. I managed to capture big sister and big brother’s first steps during their nine month photo shoots, and we made a valiant effort this time around as well. Little man is SO CLOSE though, it’s gonna happen. Any day now. 🙂

As always K family, ’twas a pleasure. I’ll see you again soon! ❤

Little B: One Year Old!

Little B’s mom and dad took me to a local park in Burnsville that had beautiful shade and a playground that matched his balloons! They also brought a delicious cake with sprinkles! I just love seeing how babies interact with cakes. Some (like his big sister) are very dainty in how they approach the cake, others…like B…just dig right in and go for it! Thanks for a great shoot guys!

S Family

Becca brought her good lookin’ crew all the way down from North Dakota for their third shoot with me. I can’t get over how grown up these two kiddos got since our last shoot. We wandered around Lake Nokomis a bit and had such a nice time. This bunch is so fun and laid back.

And seriously, future clients, take note of their outfits! Their daughters’ skirt is the central piece, and they pulled colors from it for the rest of their outfits. Coordinated, some contrast, a little pattern but not too matchy-matchy. Me likey muchly. Becca I want your dress. 😉 Thanks again S family for hanging out with me for the morning! I miss you already!
