Frequently Asked Questions

Where will our photo shoot take place?

Sessions are typically shot in a park in the Lakeville area. Not sure where to go? I have a variety of outdoor locations that I can recommend, but I am also more than happy to try out some place new! Newborn and headshot sessions take place in my home studio.

May I use the images on Facebook, Instagram, or other social medai?

Absolutely! I’d love you to! If you do post images online, all I ask is that you please give credit to LBK Photography. Word of mouth is my best advertisement!

What should our family wear?

I would recommend first finding an outfit for one person in your group and then basing the rest of your outfits off of that. Having three colors with one being neutral (such as gray, white, black, cream or brown) usually works well. Wearing clothing without cartoons, name brands or words helps to produce images that are classic and timeless. Have fun and play with some prints: stripes, plaids, florals, polka dots etc. Having at least one or two people in prints always makes a set of outfits look more dynamic. Layers always pull together an outfit, so think button up tops, cardigans, belts, scarves, vests, jewelry etc. All those little details add up. I also recommend that the ladies wear just slightly more makeup than they normally would, especially blush and lipstick.

How long can I anticipate waiting until I get my images?

My typical turnaround time is ~3 weeks to get your gallery delivered through Pixieset.

How long does an average session take?

With most family, couple, or child sessions it takes about 1 hour. For newborn and senior sessions it can take between 2-3 hours.

If I have young children what should I bring to the shoot?

Be sure to bring a spare change of clothes in case a spill of some sort happens. Having something for them to drink and non-messy snack can also be nice. If a child has a special blankie or stuffed animal that you’d like to incorporate into the shoot, feel free to bring that along too. One of the best things you can bring though is an auntie, uncle or grandparent. It is always nice to have an extra set of hands for little ones, and so often those special family members of ours know how to make those little ones light up!

What about “extras?” What if we need extra time or have extra people, what if we live extra far away or we want extra editing done?

Extra session time is $35 per hour (in my experience this has always yielded “extra” pictures.) Extra people/pets are $25 per subject. Extra miles (over 25) are charged a reasonable fee (varies from location to location.) Extra post processing can be done for $25 per hour.
